Katie Isles was born in
Canterbury and has spent a majority of her life in the Manawatu district, having always been artistic Katie spent her late teens and early adulthood painting by commission.
Taking a break from painting Katie continued her passion for design and creativity and has gone on to set up two design agencies, one specialising in branding and web design, the other in designer stationery.
Having always wanted to go back to painting, being self employed has allowed Katie to paint on a regular basis once again selling works and undertaking commissions.
Katie paints realist subjects from photos and include rustic barns, flowers and old buildings and houses. Influences in her work include Edward Hopper and Grahame Sydney.
Katie also writes, creates and sells creativity and art learning resources for both children and adults with a vision to nurture creatives.
Katie lives with her husband rurally on the outskirts of Palmerston North where she has set up her studio on their small block. Outside of painting and business Katie enjoys her family and friends and being outdoors walking, cycling, gardening, being with her horse and dogs, watching movies and reading.
